So sorry

well for those of you who are checking my blog regularly, ive been trying to find ways to post without being at a computer or hooked up to wi-fi. so if any of yall read yesterdays post before the exact moment i am writing this you just got the beginning of yesterdays story and were pretty much left hanging and you werent even able to read the funny part. so today i just re-edited it and now its a complete story that hopefully youll enjoy.

Today so far i have ridden30 miles, yesterday was a bit crazy and i put in way too many miles than intended. i rode about 60 miles yesterday. I really want to ride about 15 more for today but my right knee is hurting so i better give it some rest. I'm in Elma, Wa at the moment, its a nice little town. i think im going to check in to the hostel here, and i dont really want to ride the mile to get to it, but i guess i will.

reasons to carry an umbrella

so we got up this morning and ate breakfast, got
coffee, ran so i could catch the bus to get on a ferry
to bremerton. So, i got to the ferry parking lot im
pretty much the only one outside of a car. I started
to fiddle with my bike. In the midst of doing so there was an air raid by some white flying vessels. After 10 seconds there were splatters and 2 direct hits. there was a trail of white dots up my trailer and a brown bomb that hit my head. A white stripe dripped down my right shoulder. I had just been tagged by a flying seagull. At first i was a little ticked but laughter overwhelmed me. Of all things that could have happened i was poo-ed on upon by a seagull. i stood in awe and disgust at the same time. i made a quick video of the evidence of the disaster, and in the midst of doing so the ferry attendant summoned me to get on board.

So im in Seattle

Today I flew into Seattle from Atlanta. The plane ride was a bit rough but interesting. It turns out that I just happened to be in luck that this summer Air Tran is flying to Seattle because normally they don’t and are just testing out the market and will stop flying out here in September. The flight its self was tough for me, for some reason the air was really dry. I felt my lips drying out, it was almost as if someone would have made me smile real big, I would have been pissed because they would have cracked all over the place. My seat was right in front of an exit door so they did not recline, nor did the xm radio work for some odd reason. When boarding the plane I was on the phone trying to get a friend to forward an e-mail of mine so that I would know what to do when I got to Seattle, because somehow I misplaced my printout of that e-mail. So while boarding the lady took my boarding pass in the midst of me being on the phone. By the time I got to the row I knew I was sitting on I realized that I was left with no information in my hands that told me which seat I was in. So I created some backup on the plane, but it was ok because it was brief. I just happened to pick the correct 1 out of 2 vacant seats on row 17. I sat between 2 older women. One was from florida, and the other was from Illinois. They were prepared ladies, I forgot to check into seeing how long the flight was, they had not. The flight ended up being 5 hours and 30 minutes. I was definitely hungry, and took well advantage of their drink options, consuming about 2 cans of cranapple, and 4-5 cups of water. I was also running on about 1 hour of sleep and was hoping to catch up on some sleep but that didn’t work too well. I think there was something in the air, my nose kept running and I was sneezing and when I finally would nod off I would try to be conscious of when I was starting to droop too close to one of my partners in the row. To say the least I was pretty excited to land. We also flew around Mt.Ranier a couple of times, it was pretty beautiful and an amazing sight.

Airport. So I also forgot to talk about one thing that happened at the Hartsfield Airport. So I checked my bags my bike suitcase weighed 48lbs, 2 more and I would have to pay something. So in being concerned about the shipping of my bike I put a note in my suitcase for the TSA folks, telling them to call me if they have trouble packing it. I was surprised, that the TSA folks actually called me after they checked my bag and let me know they got it shut ok. It’s a little bit of a challenge to pack even for me.

So now onto Seattle events. I got in, scrambled around the airport for 30 minutes trying to find where I needed to catch the bus. I finally arrived at my destination, and my bike is now assembled and fairly set to go. I am hanging out with a friend at a YWAM base for a bit. So that’s where I am and i'm going to bed.
